Christina Bates
Christina Muhlestein Bates joined Sorenson in 2023. As an investor on the Growth team, Christina takes a particular interest in value creation and business operations. Prior to Sorenson, she worked in investment banking at Rothschild & Co. and at several private equity firms focused on healthcare, technology, and retail. Prior to her career in investing, Christina was an engineer with the US Air Force’s countermeasures team.
Christina received an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University and received an MBA at the Marriott School of Business with an emphasis in operations, finance, and entrepreneurship.

While pursuing an MBA, Christina was Managing Director of the student-run investment firm, Cougar Capital, where she had the unique opportunity to invest across different stages and industries, as well as syndicate with investors from across the country. Through her professional experiences, Christina fell in love with growth tech investing, attracted by its role in advancing transformative technologies in society.
To Christina, good founders are tenacious and are driven by creating irreplicable value for their customers. They surround themselves with talented people, and actively push themselves and their team to contribute meaningfully to the company vision.
