Bert Roberts joined Sorenson Capital in 2011 and focuses on fundraising, investor relations, and deal origination. He has decades of transactional experience and expertise in business development and investor relations which gives him a broad and unique perspective in his roles.

Q: What’s your favorite book?

East of Eden, by John Steinbeck.

Q: What’s your favorite place, that isn’t your home or work?

Flathead Lake, Montana.

Q: What’s your favorite sports team?

The perennial, under-achieving USC Trojans!

Q: What’s your favorite way to stay active?

I am an avid trail runner and the activity is my “Happy Place”. The scenery, topography are first-rate in the Wasatch Mountains and provide an ideal environment for me to refresh, problem solve, and think creatively.

Bio

Prior to joining Sorenson Capital, Bert was the vice president of institutional client services at Wasatch Advisors. Before Wasatch, he held senior-level investment banking positions at UBS, SoundView Technology Group, and Montgomery Securities (now Bank of America Merrill Lynch). He began his career as a consultant at Kenneth Leventhal & Company (now EY).

Bert is active in the Salt Lake City community, having previously served as a trustee of the Utah Symphony/Utah Opera and board member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area. 

Bert earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations.
