Prior to joining Sorenson Capital in 2007, Mr. Penner was an Associate in the Leveraged Finance Group at The Royal Bank of Scotland in Los Angeles. At RBS, Mr. Penner specialized in arranging senior secured, high yield, bridge, mezzanine and equity co-investment capital in support of leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and strategic rollups by leading private equity firms. While at RBS, Mr. Penner worked with senior management teams to complete a variety of transactions ranging from $100 million private middle-market buyouts to multi-billion public-to-private buyouts.
Prior to joining RBS, Mr. Penner was an Analyst in the Transaction Advisory Services Group at Ernst & Young. At Ernst & Young, Mr. Penner provided valuation consulting services to both middle-market and Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Penner graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Finance from Brigham Young University.
