Vaughan Company Business Opportunities and Sorenson Capital Establish New Mexico Alliance

Sorenson Capital, which has a Quarter-Billion Dollars to Invest in Western U.S. Companies, will Work with Vaughan Company Business Opportunities' Network of Brokers to Search New Mexico for Firms Hoping to Grow, Sell, Consolidate or Recapitalize

ALBUQUERQUE, NM and SALT LAKE CITY, (May 26, 2004)-Vaughan Company Business Opportunities Inc., New Mexico's largest business broker, and Sorenson Capital, a private equity company based in Utah, announced today an agreement to work together to develop business deals in New Mexico.

The arrangement means Vaughan Company Business Opportunities' brokers will approach promising New Mexico companies that have positive cash flows and revenues of $20 to $300 million, or those which have potential as growth equity investments, that may be interested in the spectrum of financial options Sorenson Capital provides.

Vaughan Company Business Opportunities' network of brokers have matched up business buyers with business sellers in New Mexico since 1987, and Sorenson Capital recently raised $250 million dollars in capital with the intention of investing in selected small-to mid-size western U.S. businesses.

"We want to be a resource for promising companies in the West that are attempting to take the next step forward," said Fraser Bullock, who was COO of the much-acclaimed 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics and is a managing director of Sorenson Capital. "We're Westerners too, we know the region's business environment and we believe smart investment is key to our future." He said Sorenson Capital offers a flexible range of opportunities to business owners, including full or partial exits, partnerships, capital for growth, and management-led buyouts.

The Sorenson Capital team includes three former CEOs and several members who have top-level experience at the leading strategy consulting companies in the U.S. Other managing directors of Sorenson Capital are business attorney Steve Young, the most highly rated quarterback in National Football League history; Ron Mika, a former managing director of Bain Capital, one of the world's leading private investment firms; Richard Lawson, a former president and CEO of Found, Inc. and founding partner of IRR Partners, and Tim Layton, former president and CEO of Medeco Security Locks and managing director of Alpine Consolidated.

"We are pleased to work with this Sorenson Capital team," said Wayne Unze, manager and qualifying broker for Vaughan Company Business Opportunities. "Their broad strategic understanding, private equity expertise and trusted leadership provide a unique opportunity for New Mexico businesses."
