Sorenson Capital Established as New Private Equity Firm
Salt Lake City, UT. - Sorenson Capital today announced its official formation as a new private equity firm headquartered in Utah. Sorenson Capital will now begin full operation of its new enterprise created to make small to middle market buyouts and growth equity investments with a particular focus on opportunities in the Mountain West region of the United States.

Because of this, I am delighted to play a role in launching Sorenson Capital," said Jim Sorenson, Sr. "The demonstrated talent and business acumen of the principals of Sorenson Capital is widely respected. Sorenson Capital's principals are Ron Mika, Fraser Bullock, Steve Young, Richard Lawson and Tim Layton. The firm will seek to invest in businesses that have a strong operating model, experienced management, and the opportunity for Sorenson Capital to work with management and take their companies to the next level of performance. Sorenson Capital is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The name Sorenson Capital was selected because the Sorenson family is the anchor investor in the firm.

Bullock, most recently President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, is joined by Ron Mika, a Managing Director of Bain Capital, Steve Young, former quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers and Founding Partner of Northgate Capital, Richard Lawson, Founding Partner of IRR Partners and former President & CEO of Found, Inc., and Tim Layton, Managing Director of Alpine Consolidated.
